Carbon Offset
A carbon offset refers to the reduction, avoidance, or sequestration of one metric tonne of carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas equivalent that was emitted elsewhere.
Carbon offset credits are transferrable instrument certified by governments or independent certification bodies to represent an emission reduction of one metric tonne of CO2, or an equivalent amount of other greenhouse gases.
