What is the UK ETS?
The UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) applies to power generation, energy-intensive industries, and aviation. Covered operators must monitor, report, and surrender UKAs corresponding to their verified emissions each year. As other cap and trade systems the UK ETS cap declines over time in line with the UK’s net zero 2050 target, sending a clear price signal to invest in decarbonization.
