Spanish power generation set an 11-month high on Tuesday of 859 GWh amid cold temperatures and robust exports to France where domestic supply is limited due to nuclear outages. At the same time, Spain was suffering recently from low renewable production due to the biggest drought for 20 years. The missing capacities have been replaced mainly by gas-fired power plants, which has most probably increased the emissions of the country’s utilities.
