In its plenary, the European Parliament adopted a renewable target of 35% of the EU’s total energy use by 2030.
In its plenary, the European Parliament adopted a renewable target of 35% of the EU’s total energy use by 2030. European member states, however, only supported a target of 27% last month. The Parliament also adopted a binding energy efficiency target of 35% versus the 30% preferred by the Council. Now trilogue negotiations between the Commission, the Council and the Parliament can start.
